Mrs. Shamhitha Raj K.

FOUNDER / DIRECTOR

Mrs. Shamhitha Raj Hari Venkatesh is a Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)–licensed Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist, and a registered member of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA). With over 7 years of clinical experience, she specializes in providing comprehensive speech-language therapy for children with diverse communication and developmental needs.

She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, Puducherry, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Education (PGDNSE) and a Diploma in Child Psychology (DCP) from the Academic Council of British Learning (UK). A University Rank Holder, Mrs. Shamhitha has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and professional dedication.

Mrs. Shamhitha has positively impacted the lives of over 100 families across India through individualized, evidence-based interventions. She is a Certified Play Therapist, Certified Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) Practitioner, Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Practitioner, and an Avaz Certified AAC Professional. Her clinical expertise includes working with children with Language Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other neurodivergent conditions, with a strong emphasis on early intervention and autism support.

In addition to in-clinic services, Mrs. Shamhitha has been providing teletherapy interventions for over 5 years, supporting children and families across India and internationally. Beyond her therapeutic work, she actively conducts workshops for parents and educators, fostering awareness and equipping them with practical strategies to support children’s emotional, behavioral, and communication development.

Skand Tirupur is a multidisciplinary child development center with over a decade of experience supporting children with neurodiversities, cognitive-perceptual challenges, communication disorders, and learning difficulties. Now operating in Tirupur, Skand brings together qualified professionals under one roof to provide individualized, evidence-based interventions. Their approach emphasizes a holistic understanding of each child, focusing on strengths rather than limitations, and crafting tailored strategies that promote long-term growth and improved quality of life. By integrating therapies such as occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and special education. Skand aims to empower children to thrive beyond their diagnoses.

Skand Academy of Skill Development and Education is a dedicated initiative designed to support children with special needs through a blend of recreational therapy and educational programs. Our mission is to empower children and their parents by offering personalized interventions that nurture essential skills, foster independence, and promote holistic development. We aim to guide children toward becoming self-sustainable adults, equipped with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in various aspects of life. CONSULTATION / PARENTAL INTERVIEW

Initially the details of the child is collected and the concerns are enquired by the parental interview

OBSERVATION SESSIONS

Followed by the consultation, the child is alloted for the detailed evaluation sessions by the professional on a period of 3 sessions ( 45mins each)

GOALS FORMULATIONS / INDIVIDUALISED TREATMENT PLAN

Further by the end of the observation session, the treatment plan and the issues are discussed on detailed with the parent

GROUP THERAPY SESSION

The child is further enforced into group therapy sessions conducted indoor/outdoor to improve their social interaction and peer mingling.

INTEGRATED THERAPY SESSIONS

During the intensive intervention session if the child requires additional therapy, the child gets integrated therapy by multidisciplinary team.

The therapy sessions are allocated for each day and the intervention is provided intensively.

The child during their intervention term, the child is being periodically re-evaluated to track the progress.

The therapy sessions are gradually reduced ensuring the skills attained are generalized and maintenance.

FOLLOW UP & DISCHARGE

The child is then allocated for the follow up session in order to make sure no regression occurs. Then The Child will be Discharged.
